UGA FOOD TECHNOLOGIES

DESCRIPTION

Haines Gipson & Associates provided engineering services in creating the UGA food technology building on UGA’s Griffin campus. The 3 story, 14,000 SF lab addition is tied into the adjacent 1970’s wing. The terrain and close proximity to other structures dictated a series of basement foundation walls on the lower level. The upper 2 levels, serving as Labs, were framed using conventional composite beam and slab. The roof contained a large mechanical penthouse to satisfy the Lab requirements below. A radial elevated walkway serves as the connector between buildings.
