ROAD DESIGN AND PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS TO SIDNEY MARCUS BLVD, PIEDMONT RD AND MOROSGO DR

DESCRIPTION
Haines, Gipson & Associates, Inc provided site / civil design services for widening,striping and sidewalk improvements of approximately 0.20 miles of Sidney Marcus Boulevard at the intersection of Sidney Marcus Boulevard and Piedmont Road. The initial phase of the project included road improvements to Sidney Marcus Boulevard, right-of-way acquisitions, and “streetscape” improvements. The second phase included two new left-turn lanes, new pedestrian walkways, parallel parking stalls, and landscape improvements. The third phase of the project included modifications to Adina Drive. The improvements to Adina Drive included, new sidewalk improvements, new striping and middle-islands to allow left-turn maneuvers into the new development, and the coordination of the existing and proposed storm water and utility infrastructure along Adina Drive. This project required the design of approximately 900 feet of new decorative “Main Street Overlay” per the City of Atlanta’s Zoning requirements. The last phase of this project included new striping modifications at the intersection of Morosgo Drive and Piedmont Road and the addition of handicap access and crosswalks along Morosgo Drive
