Grady Stadium was designed in 1948 by the prominent architect Richard Aeck and is considered a masterpiece of modern engineering expression. Renovation of this historic site includes overall concrete repair of the stands while providing a new waterproof finish to both the East and West stands and light towers. Column repair is essential as many are showing major deterioration and distress. A new addition being planned underneath the seating area of the West Stands to increase the size of the ROTC training facilities by 6,000 square feet while a new handicap accessible mezzanine is being added adjacent to this area. New elevator towers and ramps are being added to both the East and West stands along with new ticket booths on both East and West entrances.
