Experience: Stoney has been with Haines, Gipson & Associates, Inc since 1996 and he has over 14 years of Civil engineering experience. Stoney has served as Project Manager for many retail and educational civil engineering projects throughout the Southeast. He has designed over 5 million squared feet of mixed-used developments.  Responsibilities include site layout, utility routing, grading, storm and sanitary sewer layout and design, erosion and sedimentation control, hydrology studies and report production, storm water management facility design, horizontal and vertical alignment, road design, project management, permitting, drafting with AutoCAD, Land Development Desktop and Civil 3D. Stoney leads a 2-member engineering team whose project list includes: Overland Pointe Market Place and Auto Mall in Overland Park, Kansas. This development included 150+ acres of retail shops and restaurants. This Henry Town Center Phase I and II (60-acre Commercial Site in McDonough, GA); Presidential Market Place Phase I and II (12+ acres of Infrastructure, Commercial and Restaurant Development in Snellville, Georgia); Deerfield Place (47-acre Commercial Re-Development in Milton, GA); Cumming Town Center (60-acre Commercial Development in Cumming, GA); Lindbergh Plaza (26-acre Commercial Site in Atlanta, GA that includes 395,415 sq-ft of shops and restaurants)to name a few. Some of his most recent design/project management experience includes the design of a new expansion to Southern Polytechnic State University, Student Dorm and Dining Hall. This LEED Silver Project, lying on a 9 acre site, consisted of the design of a 600-bed dorm facility as well as the coordination with the planning of the adjacent parking deck. His design included the grading for an additional 10-house special-interest complex and the coordination for a new “loop” access road with future “streetscape” coordination. The special student housing will be a 4 story, 83,000 sq-ft complex accompanied by a 15,000 sq-ft dining facility. In recent months, Stoney will be the project manager for future school expansions in Cobb County, Georgia. He also will be responsible for the design of additional areas to Southern Polytechnic State University.
