Unique Feature of this Project:  

Load bearing masonry structures, which comprise 7,467 s.f. of the 19,060 s.f., are supported by the post tensioned parking deck.

Major Challenge:

Designing the parking deck to support its own earthquake and gravity loading coupled with the earthquake and gravity load of the load bearing masonry supported structures. This problem was intensified in that the site was located only one kilometer from a major fault line, thus increasing the earthquake loading above what is considered to be the norm in California.
